I found myself lying on a sandy, palm – fringed beach. It was a beautiful sunny day. I had a terribly headache, I remembered only that I slept on the ship to Jamaica. I stand up and walked thru the beach, it was an island, a desert island. I was very hungry and thirsty so I decided to go to the jungle and try to find something to eat. There were a lot of strange trees, palm trees and river going thru the jungle. I tried the water, it was really good. I was looking for food when I heard a strange noise from the other side of the river. I decided to go there.

I swam the river and run there. It was monkeys on banana trees. I found the food so I was very happy. I walked slowly to trees and I took bananas. The monkeys were peaceful. I came back to the river and ate my spoil, after that I felt asleep. On the morning I went to the beach, where I have found a lot of driftwoods so I could build a small tent with leaves and I fired a bonfire. I made a spear so I could catch fish for breakfast; it was not very hard to do it. I grilled fish on fire and ate a very good meal. I started thinking when somebody will find me.
After some days I build a bigger house and pantry, where I was storing food (bananas, fishes and I also found on the island coconuts and peaches). Some day when I was travelling past the island I caught a goat, I build farm next to my house where the goat (and later more goats) lived. This island was like a paradise I felt in love with this small isolated world. On the anniversary of one year I lived on this Island the ship arrived, firstly I didn’t want to come back to normal world, but I decided to go with the ship.

Living on this desert island was unusual experience which not everyone can gain and the best way to get closer to the nature and forget about all the problems and activities like going to school and work.

I felt independent because it was only my problem to catch food, build a hut and survive.
