Everyone who is reading fantasy books has heard of J.R.R. Tolkien, one of the most talented and popular writers of his kind. The world he created in his stories became and still remains an example for other fantasy authors.
His full name is John Ronald Reuel Tolkien. He was born by an English parents in Bloemfontein in South Africa on 3rd January, 1892 and died in England on 2nd November, 1973. He was a scientist and writer.

He spent most of his life in England, where his family returned after Tolkien’s father death in 1896. He was learning in King Edward's School, St. Phillip's Grammar School and Oxford University. After finishing studies in 1915 he joined the army and fought in several battles near Somma, France. Finally he returned in 1917 after being infected by trench fever. It was also the time, when he started writing “The book of Lost Tales”.
Tolkien was, by an occupation, a scientist. He was also a member of New English Dictionary committee (1918-20), lecturer and later professor of English language in Leeds (1920-25), professor of Old English language in Oxford (1925-45) and also a professor of English literature. Later he became an expert in many literature written in many forgotten languages.
Tolkien had interests in languages since childhood, especially in old and present European speech. From this disclosure to spoken word, grown not only his proffession but also a hobby – creation of own languages. He was also interested in myths, legends and epic tales. This and his wide knowledge mixed together in his tales with an superb effects...
