Changes of life over last decade in small polish towns.

Despite the fact that ten years is a pretty short period of time, in Poland during last decade has changed quite lot, especially if we’re concidering development of small towns, where changes are clearly visible nowadays.

After rapid drop in inflation (in 1995) economic situation in Poland allowed people to open their own bussinesses. As a result in samll cities sub-offices of huge companies started do prosperate giving opportunities for citizens to find well paid jobs. In fact, society could afford higher and higher standart of living; new, modern flats were built, exclusive and expensive cars weren’t something abnormal that times.

What is more, technological advancements occured on polish market. Sophisticated devices such as computers, mobilephones, notebooks or CD-players became available not only for people from huge aglomerations but also for those living far away from big cities. Also Internet was becoming more and more popular,common and within the reach of general public. All this changes were simplifying everyday life to a high degree what was a main reason of general satisfaction of society in smaller towns.

Because of the fact that people became richer, their requirements of quality of goods increased radically. This was the proximante cause of enrichment of small business concerns: more luxurious and various assotment meant higher prices, and in fact higher earnings for shopkeepers.

As a conclusion, last decade was a turning-point of development and improving living standarts for smaller cities. We should ask ourself how such towns would look like nowadays if so huge changes hadn’t taken place? Would they still be God-forsaken place??
