Green Monster

The shadows were growing longer and the sky was getting dark as we walked through the jungle. My two friends and I felt hot and exhausted. We were heading for a small village in northern Brasilia. We tried to find our way to the village , but it was hard to tell which path we should follow in the darkness. We began to fell very lost and afraid. All around we heard terrifying noises.

Then Kris who was in front stooped suddenly in his track “ Oh God…” – he shouted pointing at large, green , hideous monster. We froze in horror. We could see the red shining eyes and huge yellow teeth. We stared at the monster, too scare to move . After a few seconds that felt like hours , monster came close to us. Strangely though, the creation stooped and then I noticed tat it had human foots. The monster stood up, and a young girl took off the green fur covering her head and shoulders. “ Hi ..” – she said, smiling broadly :” I’m Jean from the village. I came to look for you It’s traditional for us to wear the monster fur to greet new guest- she explained.

Recovering from the shock we began to laugh with relief. We followed Jean to her village. Where the villagers gave us a warm welcome. After a delicious meal we sat around the fire with villagers. It was a great end to a day full of adventure.
