Advantages and disadvantages of internet.

In XXI century computers seem to be useful in our lives. Since they were intended in 1948 they have revolutionized millions of people lifes.
In Poland computers have been used more and more frequently since the beggining of the 1990s. Computers are having an anourmous impact on science and technology because of fast mathematical calculations, data gathering, testing and analysis which have been improved. Computers are also being increasily used in medicine, in banking and finance systems, some areas of architecture, engineering, machinery or education.
Everyone will probably agree that the future of modern society depends greatly on computerization, and in a few years time the inability to operate a computer will be treated as a kind of civilization illiteracy.
The Internet os the symbol of 21st century. This global computer web was first used by the US Department of Defence in the 1960s and had a limited scope. The first 'www' pages appeared in 1990. Nowadays the Internet is used on a mass scale by about 250 millions people all over the world.
The Internet is a very cheap source of communication. The world is becoming a global village where there are no borders and where distances don't really matter. Electronic mail is a type of corresponding which is simple, cheap and quick. Also a very popular way of using the Net id chatting online. You can share your interests, hobbies and problems with people. The Internet can also be seen as a place where people can help each other. It is anonymity, so people talk openly about their problems and feeling.
Besides all advantages, the Internet may be a dangerous place. For example criminals can hack into the computer systems of organizations and use information to steal money and ideas.
What is more, becouse of its anonymity, people often talk too much. The other side do not know who sits in front of the computer, so he can blame on others without no consequences. The Internet gives a freedom, which is used in a bad way. It can be dangerous for the kids who are simple-minded.
To conclude, the Internet is a library, university, archive, shopping centre, concert hall, bank, post office, employment centre, marriage bureau, doctor's surgery and travel agency. You can be there and not even leave your home. However, on the long run it's not good for aur social life.
