Individualism is a character trait characterized by a strong sense of independence and personal autonomy. Personally I think this is a very not positive personality trait that can separate us from the rest of society.
Because I am very individualist and I don't like that, I can see the biggest drawbacks of such an attitude. One of them is, as already mentioned, the rejection by society and the need to cope alone with problems. Individualism is often manifested by high self-esteem and a desire to lead the group, which is definitely a disadvantage. By individualism we can also be perceived as being antisocial.
The advantages include being a decidedly personal and independent. Individualists are usually peremptory which is useful in certain occupations. Such persons are often easier to create your unique image. It easier for them to come to the inquiry set your own goals because they do not care about anyone else except themselves. I think that an individualist is easier to accept criticism.
In conclusion, I believe that individualism has its good and bad sides, and only depends on us whether we turn this to our advantage or disadvantage.
